The schematic diagram of an uncomplicated technique to continuously observe isolated single cell morphological changes by utilizing an ordinary 96 well plate and custom designed hydrogel structure.
Immobilization and cell growth imaging of Yeast cells and bacterial cells in the microwells on the bottom of EZ cell trapperTM.
MIC determination in 3~4 hours against Escherichia coli (E. coli ) ATCC 25922 and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus ) ATCC 29213 by analyzing bacterial size and number under different concentrations of two antibiotics, ampicillin and chloramphenicol.

- The MIC values of E. coli ATCC 25922 against ampicillin and chloramphenicol are 4 μg/ml and 8 μg/ml, respectively.
- The MIC values of S. aureus ATCC 29213 against ampicillin and chloramphenicol are 2 μg/ml and 4 μg/ml, respectively.
- The MIC values are all in the ranges of the Clinical Laboratory Standard Institute.
- 6~7 times faster (3~4 hours) & accurate results than those of conventional methods (24 hours).
